Planned Events

The activities of the Club, including recreational and training events, are scheduled via the calendar. The Strangford Lough events are also listed, including other regattas to which we send a safety boat. The fuller details of these regattas are contained in a separate web site for the Strangford Lough Regatta Programme, and we commend regatta sailing to the Club.
The Club can only operate such an extensive calendar of events by the voluntary assistance of its members, enlisted by the rota associated within the printed Members Handbook. The Club is most grateful for the substantial assistance received from members and it is important that this work burden is shared. We are providing training and instruction to assist in preparing members for these duties. Anyone who is unfamiliar with any aspect of the calendar, sailing or duties is most welcome to contact an appropriate officer from the Committees.

10 Feb Wed   Strangford Lough Race Week Association - Notice of Biennial General Meeting. (Adobe pdf 26kb).

The 2009 event was enjoyed by members of most of the clubs on the Lough and now the Association need to start planning for the 2011 event.  They would welcome any feedback on the changes made in 2009 and any suggestions for 2011.
The Association asks that each club nominates at least one committee member.

01 March Mon   Abandoned Property.  To tidy up the club site and make better and safer use of the facilities the Executive Committee will be acting upon Club Rule 49(b).  Between 1st and 31st March 2010 abandoned property will be placed in the central area of the main caravan site.  Thereafter commercial waste disposal contractors will be used to remove the material. 
07 March Sun   Food Hygiene Course. Sunday 7th March 2010 commencing at 11am and finishing at approx 2pm.  This is open to any club member who is interested and will be paid for by the club.  The more people who do the course the cheaper it will be.  Email food@edyc.co.uk to book a place or to request details.

03 April Sat   Improver Training for dinghies and powerboats.
Format – turn up at 13:30 ready for the water at 14:00.  Instruction and coaching provided.  You provide as much equipment as possible – club equipment available.  More information if required through info@edyc.co.uk or by phone to any Sailing Committee member.

Briefing - 13.30.   Launch 14.00.  Racing with a difference for Wayfarers.  Last year we ran a successful team treasure hunt event to the islands.  This year with the 2010 Worlds taking place we plan to have themed racing.  Come along and find out more.

RYA Honda Junior RIB competition EDYC heats.  A practice session will also be held on this day.  The age range for the two groups is 8-12 and 13-16.
