The Strangford Lough (Sea Fishing Exclusion Zones) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2011

Fisheries exclusion zones have been established in Strangford Lough.  The associated sea beds are now non-disturbance zones. The prohibition does not affect surface traffic.  However, we have been asked to avoid deploying anchors on, or otherwise disturbing, the specified seabed as much as possible.

The objective of these regulations is to provide protection from sea fishing activities for two areas identified as having rnodiolus rnodiolus (horse mussel) within the Strangford Lough Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
