Proposed Aids to Navigation. Ards Borough Council and Down District Council have invited tenders for the supply and installation of Aids to Navigation on Strangford Lough. The project is part-financed by the ‘European Agriculture Fund for Rural Development: Europe Investing in Rural Areas’ under the Leader Programme for Northern Ireland. These are part of the formal applications to the Commissioners of Irish Lights for Statutory Sanctioning of the aids. Chart showing the proposed navigational aids (Adobe pdf 2.5Mb).	21/08/2010
The BBC is to broadcast two documentaries on Olympic Class sailing. (Adobe pdf 20kb). Part 1 on Saturday 21st August at 1300 on BBC1 and Part 2 on Sunday 5th September at 1400 on BBC2. Both programmes can be watched on BBC iPlayer after transmission.	19/08/2010.

EDYC Regatta Saturday 14th August 2010. 1) Members are asked to: - supply a loaf of sandwiches and a cake/tray bake; and - volunteer for the work parties (see the notice in the club house). 2) Music with 'The Wee Band' during the early afternoon and throughout the evening. Event Weekend 19th - 20th June - your help needed. The Drascombe cruise, the Wayfarer Irish Nationals and the Fireball Irish Championships are being held over the two days with people arriving on Friday evening. Coffee and scones will be served on both mornings and there will be a BBQ on Saturday evening. This will be one the busiest weekend of the season both on and off the water so if you think you could lend a hand for a few hours sometime please contact Anne Molly or Pamela Woods - telephone numbers in Members hand book.	04/06/2010.

RYA Honda Junior RIB competition EDYC heats will be held on Sunday 9 May 2010. A practice session will be held on the same day. The age range for the two groups is 8-12 and 13-16.	12/04/2010.
EDYC Points Series racing 2010. Classes racing under the Portsmouth Yardstick handicap system. The recommended numbers in Part 7 of YR2 for 2010 at http://www.rya.org.uk/infoadvice/racing/Pages/portsmouthyardstick.aspx will be referred to in addition to performance during 2009, when deciding PY handicaps for the start of EDYC points series racing for 2010. Members intending to race should ensure the club has full details of their boat and any relevant amendments to previous notifications.	31/03/2010.

Time Expired Pyrotechnics (eg out of date flares). If you need to dispose of out of date flares then please read the HM Coastguard Flare disposal policy in Northern Ireland (Adobe pdf 27kb). Please note that it is illegal to put pyrotechnics in general rubbish or, unless there is an emergency, to fire them.	21/03/2010.
New Members. Membership of the club is currently open, and we welcome applications from prospective new members with an interest in boating on Strangford Lough. An application form is available and if interested in joining this should be completed and forwarded to the club secretary.	19/03/2010.

Abandoned Property. To tidy up the club site and make better and safer use of the facilities the Executive Committee will be acting upon Club Rule 49(b). Between 1st and 31st March 2010 abandoned property will be placed in the central area of the main caravan site. Thereafter commercial waste disposal contractors will be used to remove the material.	29/01/2010.

Strangford Lough Race Weekend. 26 - 28 June. The Organising committee have moved the event to run over the weekend with a evening race on Friday, and full racing on the Saturday and Sunday.	16/05/2009.
Navigation Note - position of marks. The club handbook chart is not for navigation purposes and represents the approximate positions of club marks only. For example Mark 4 is currently (30 April 2009) located south-west of Barrel Rock and not as shown on the marks chart. A number of marks have yet to be laid.	30/04/2009.

New power sockets. (revised wording) The winch house sockets have been removed and new ones installed in the first boat house (close to the hose and convenient for power-washing). Additional sockets have also been installed adjacent to the water taps on either side of the yard. Members should note that there is a touch sensitive switch located above the sockets in the first boat-house. This is a timer switch and it activates all of the external power-points on site, allowing a maximum of two hours use - after which it is necessary to re-arm the touch switch. Electricity is provided free of charge to all members.	31/05/2005.
