.
In addition to the results tables posted on the club website, we are now uploading results to the HAL Club Results Service.
The main advantage is that the results will be available on line more quickly
as no editing is required to the output from the HAL Results program as is
required for the
EDYC website results tables.
An additional benefit of the HAL Club Results Service is that we can automatically send
an email to competing boats informing you that new results are available
and giving the website link to view them on-line.
To ensure your privacy, none of your personal details, including your email address is held on the HAL server.
Members not wishing to be notified by email, or preferring to use another
email address to that notified on your membership form for club
correspondence, should send an email to results@edyc.co.uk
and I will
ensure the address is deleted, or changed as appropriate.
You can also use the results@edyc.co.uk email to tell me of any errors and omissions
in the results, and so that we can assist OODs, to let me know where boats have not been identified
by owners on the EDYC club register or are using unregistered sail numbers.
Of course, this will not replace the formal protest and request for redress
process. Neither will it replace the requirement for members to ensure
their boat is correctly identified on the EDYC Boat List.
I hope members will enjoy the facility which may be just the start of
developing an enhanced results service.
Happy and safe sailing
Terry
